The only DLC worthy of purchase are single player narrative expansion packs that add to an already completed story. Fuck everything else.

Lets be honest, it is not fine, but companies kept pushing the boundaries untill we ended up here. I can accept microtransactions withot a problem in Free to Play games and I will usually buy some equalling the worth the game has for me (usually 20-30 dollar through my entire lifetime with the game). But the current trend of full price games that come with sliced out content that later gets sold back to you in dlc AND it has microtransactions day1 before even the game works is just fucking hell. I haven't bought a single tripleA that had microtransactions and I never will, I honestly hope most current big companies just crash and burn and then the market somehow learns to police itself, but I know it won't and that we are stuck in this twisted parody of what was once a beloved hobby.

Cosmetic microtransactions in F2P games are okay, any other payment in a full price game other than an expansion (story dlc, nowadays) is bullshit.

It's not only about what thay sell it's also about the presentation, when a game is full of prizetags and always tries to sell you something that's disgusting. Everyone blames the mobile gaming industry for the problem, at the time some AAA games are already worse than some mobile games.

Microtransactions for comestic is perfectly fine. Some people want to stand out more than others. As long as it doesn't break the game everything is fine. No one is forcing you to buy it and usually its about skipping the grind to finding those pieces in the first place (except AC series)

Well I dont know about other games but for games like Path of Exile which a completely free to play game without any pay 2 win feature and no ads while playing, micro transactions would be one of the main ways to make money to develop even more free content

1) NO MICROTRANSACTIONS are acceptable in a Single-player game. none. 2) Literally nobody thinks 5-20 is a good price for cosmetics. 1-10 is a good range. 3) only in free2play games are high prices 1-50 acceptable. IF they're equivalent of what's being sold

Well I dont like them and would rather have a full game. But if there is cosmetic DLC packs you can buy after the game that does not affect game play i am fine with it. If there is an artist you want a drawing from dont expect it for free, its an extra thing to make you play dress up with, you dont need it, and it give artist another income source. It deont have to be evil or unfair.

It is how corporations have manipulated consumers over time. They have normalised microtransactions and DLCs and tried to go as far with it as possible until there was kickback with Star Wars Battlefront 2. Now we are in a situation where gamers are grateful for cosmetic only microtransactions that it has become accepted. Things that 10 years ago would have been free. Spiderman for the PS4 has been one of the best examples of games that have not abused gamers through microtransactions. I still hate DLCs, but they are a given now no matter what.
